Today we trucked through the slushy roads and made it just in time to catch the lightrail uptown to the circus. The kids love riding the lightrail and we had such fun with all of our friends. The kids loved dressing up in clown clothes, eating cotton candy, and watching the Tigers in the big cage!!! They did pretty well with no naps, consumed loads and loads of sugar and laughed histerically at all the clowns. We even made it back home without to much of a crowd, had a quick dinner and the kids are already tucked in bed for the night....whew!!! A big thanks to out friends who made the event so special and came with despite the big Winter storm!!!

Finally, we got a single day of snow here in Charlotte....As soon as the kids woke up...they could not wait to go outside and play in the snow. Knowing Charlotte, we too thought it was a good idea to play while we could because it does not last long. We got to go out and make snow angels, throw snowballs and eat the falling sleet. Later after a nice breakfast(cooked by Daddy) we took them to the big hill to sled with their friends. Mason and Cari both loved flying down the big Hill.....they did awesome and after a bit we headed back to get some hot chocolate and watch the Little Mermaid Movie!! It may not last long but we are thankful to get one day of snow this year!!!
A Playdate with "Just the Boys" and of course, Cari too!!!! They had some much fun playing Cars, Pirate Ships, and repairing the garbage trucks with tools. Hopefully next time they will get to play outside is the weather is warmerl. Mason loves having so many good friends in our neighborhood, we are so lucky!!!

How lucky are we to live in a great neighborhood with such good friends. This weekend Mason's friend (and neighbor) John offered Mason his Power Wheels Mustang after recieving new go karts for him and his sister for Christmas this year....it was so sweet of him to think of Mason and Mason was elated about receiving this awesome gift!!! He is patiently waiting for the battery to charge up so he can take it for a spin but for now he is content having Daddy push him to the top of the driveway and then letting gravity take over on the way down:)
It sure has been Brrr....chilly outside here the past 2 weeks. Yes, cold here is in only in the 30's but that is still pretty cold and we don't even get the reward of snow (at least a little bit) It has been a great weekend though, a little shopping, dining out, playing at the indoor swingset place, and the best part of all....some real house cleaning was accomplished including the packing away of the high chair and parting with the exersaucer.....what a great feeling to not have that stuff taking up space in the house anymore!! So.....we have been having lots of indoor fun this past weekend we did hardly anything at all but here are a few cute pictures to show for it:)

It is hard to believe that Carissa is already getting her 1st haircut...seemed like just this time last year I was scrambling to find enough for those little piggy tails.....the time has come and we headed to Doolittles yesterday for her 1st Haircut. She did so well and loved every minute with that lollipop....She sat in the little vehicle and watched Dora on the tv while they cut away. She looks like she has aged 10 years and is not a little toddler anymore.....now that it is even we can't wait to let it grow longer and get her piggy tails back. Here are a few fun shots from yesterday

Darren loves the Iowa Hawkeyes (since he lived in Iowa up until his move to Charlotte a few years ago) and he has since embedded in our kids the importance of being a lifelong Hawkeye fan no matter how far away we may be!!! Mason LOVES them equally as much and the first thing he said to his preschool teacher yesterday morning as he walked through the door "Ms. Holly, The Hawkeyes Winned" So looks like we have some mini Hawk Fans too!!!!
