Our Friend Will's 1st Birthday

Happy Birthday to our Sweet Friend Will. Today we had the best time playing with friends and celebrating Will's Big Day. Mason and Carissa both loved digging in the sand with friends and their favorite part about lunch was the juicy watermelon. Will's Mommy,Carrie, did an awesome job and he had the coolest Car's Cake ever!!! We hope he enjoyed his special day, he sure did like the icing on his cupcake!!!!

Happy Memorial Day

Happy Memorial Day and Thank you to all that have sacrificed for our Precious Country!!! This has been a pretty rainy weekend here in Charlotte and we had to take a raincheck on a cookout with friends today since the kids are not feeling 100 percent!! However, we have enjoyed lots of family time, spring cleaning and even made a Happy Memorial Day Cake for after our dinner tonight....not so bad after all. However, our tissue supply is looking rather low and may need to be restocked VERY SOON!!!!

Fun at Boomerang Bay Waterpark

A few days ago we took advantage of this warm weather and tried to have a little fun in the sun, despite the clouds and periods of rain showers that day, at the waterpark. The kids loved splashing in the water. Carissa was a little skeptical of walking through the 8 inch deep section of the tide pool but warmed up to it in no time. Every summer we love our season passes to Carowinds Amusement Park and enjoy watching the kids play in the water.

Popsicles for Princess

Once upon a time there was a little princess named Carissa and this little princess has only 2 little teeth up until.......15 1/2 mths and she finally got a 3rd!!! Looking a little silly with 3 teeth on the bottom and none on top, she seems to have quite the dramatic reaction when teeth cut through...not quite the trooper her brother was!!! The other night she was up all night but oh did she enjoy lying in Mommy and Daddy's big bed chomping on that popsicle at 1:30am!!! It's going to be a lot of long nights if she doesn't get this over with soon.... Mommy was a little tired the next day but Daddy conviently slept right through our little visitor!!

NASCAR Speed Street Charlotte

Today Darren surprised us by getting to leave work a little early for the upcoming Memorial Holiday weekend so we decided to battle the crowds and take the Light Rail to uptown Charlotte to participate in Speed Street. Speed Street is a celebration/gearing up ritual for the annual Coca Cola 600 NASCAR Race we host each year. They have sponsers and drivers signing autographs...lots of food and a little fun for the kids as well. Despite the crowds we did have some fun in the big city!!!

Forest Hill Preschool Picnic at Park

Today was the big end of year picnic at the park for Mason's preschool. He really enjoyed playtime with his friends and I can tell he is really going to miss seeing them everyday. It was a nice day out for a picnic...

Mason's Last Day of Preschool

Mason's Last Day of School May 20th 2009
Today was our sweet little boy's official last day of his first year in preschool at Forest Hill. He has learned so much and made many great friends along the way. I can't believe how much he has grown up from that toddler that could barely wear such a big backback to a 3 yr old little boy. We can't wait to begin our summer and look forward to some summer playdates.

Quack Quack Crackers

The other evening we took the kids up to our neighborhood pond (one of our favorite places to visit on our walks) to feed the mommy and her baby ducks. As we were leaving the house I realized I only had a single new loaf of bread so I had Mason grab a sleeve of saltine crackers to feed the ducks...I figured they wouldn't care once the crackers hit the water they would get squishy anyway. The kids started tossing them into the water but needless to say they had a HARD time sharing the crackers with the ducky family...they shared half the sleeve of crackers with the ducks and finsihed of the rest of them themselves......Guess we will have to come prepared to feed 2 families next time!!!

Strawberry Picking at Hall Family Farm

We headed out this morning with friends to do some yummy strawberry picking in Ballantyne!! The kids had so much fun. I tried to let Cari carry a basket but for every 2 I picked she would eat 1 of them....Needless to say it was very difficult to fill a 5lb basket full....Mason loved running down the rows and of course he insisted on picking all the GREEN strawberries (green is his favorite color) The kids are not suppose to eat out in the fields but what could we say when we went to check out and pay and every child has stained clothes and red mouths:) Can't wait to go back again soon...we had a great time...thanks friends for meeting us out there!!

NASCAR Pit Crew Challenge

Last week, Mason and Preston had a fun Daddies Night Out Uptown when they went to see the NASCAR Pit Crew Challnge at The Bobcats Arena here in Charlotte. They had a great time checking out all the cool cars and even got to stay up past bedtime....what more could a Little Boy ask For!!! Thanks Dads for a Great Time!

A Morning Out for Mommy and Carissa

Mommy and Carissa took advantage of the nice weather outside this morning. We walked with friends on the McMullen Creek Greenway Trails and saw all the ducks at the pond. Cari loves being outside just like her Big Brother. Today was Mason's End of the Year Party at Forest Hill Preschool. He only has one day left this year and a Big Picnic for the school on Thursday. This Year has really flown by but he is excited the his friend Preston will be in his class next year, hopefully along with some of the really good friends he made at school this year!!

Spring Fest in Downtown Waxhaw

The town a few over from Charlotte held their annual festival this weekend so we decided to take the kids up there to walk around. We really had a good time...the kids ate snowcones, Cari got kissed by a Billy Goat, and the downtown area was very historic and beautiful....I guess it was worth a drive through the country!!! Literally...we passed the cow and horse pastures twice just trying to locate Downtown Waxhaw!!!
