Apple Festival and Peach Farm

This past weekend we had another great day in York, South Carolina. We went to the annual Apple Festival with our Lifegroup friends. we rode the Hayride, Had Apple Cider Sipper and Slushies, Fed the Goats and Pigs, Listened to the Story Of Johnny Appleseed, and got to pick a pumpkin or some yummy apples to take home....We then headed over to Black's Peach Farm to enjoy a picnic lunch, see all the cool hay bale animals and go through the mazes. What a fun Saturday in October finished off with our Annual Neighborhood Octoberfest at the clubhouse....Mason had the best time doing the Velcro wall and Carissa loves the slides and bounce houses.

Forest Hill FieldTrip to Hodges Farm

Last week Mason's Preschool Class took a fun fieldtrip to Hodges Dairy Farm.....They got to see the pigs eat pumpkins, take a wagon ride, check out the Barn with the horses and even pick their own pumpkin out in the patch. Mason had fun playing with Anna, Stella and Ellis and was of course Over the Moon when Preston arrived....Mason also had fun looking for the perfect pumpkin for himself....wouldn't ya know it happened to be his favorite color: GREEN. We had just enough fun before the rain set in and are excited for more fall fun this weekend!!!!!

Charlotte Panthers & Chicago Bears

A little piece of me wishes I was back home in Chicago rooting for Da Bears but since moving to the South we have found this to be such a great place to call home. Although the Panthers have good and bad seasons(I am use to this being a Chicago Cubs Fan) we can't help but root for at least one of our home teams, I guess we will remain a House Divided. Daddy scored some awesome 5o yrd line 5th row seats for the game(loving company tickets!!!) and the kids are so excited because they think if they watch the game here they may see him on TV (they may). Mommy is actually just looking forward to a lazy day home after a crazy fun weekend that ended last night with a great double date night to Scarowinds with friends.

Apple Picking at Windy Hill Orchard

It was such a nice morning to head out bright and early to pick apples.....we had so much fun with our friends playing with the pumpkins, chasing the roosters and chickens, and picking lots of yummy apples. We also enjoyed a picnic lunch under the pavilion. Carissa loved reaching up into the trees for the good apples and Mason just loved climbing them. All the kids had such fun and we are looking forward to the festival next weekend that wraps up the end of another great season for apples:)

Toy Story 3 on Ice

Last night we had so much fun with the kids at Toy Story 3 on Ice in Uptown Charlotte....Mason and Carissa loved the movie and now were lucky enough to see it up close at the Time Warner Arena. They enjoyed some Alien Cotton Candy and Nachos while they sat with all eyes on the show.....Mason loved the green army men parachuting down from above and also the scene where Buzz turns into Spanish Buzz...heehee Carissa could not be more thrilled to see Barbie and Ken up there during the second half of the show and she loved the Barbie Girl song they performed too:)
They both were really good and I am happy we got tickets to such a great show!!!!

It's Chili Time at The Galbraith House

It was so nice having our friends over for some yummy chili and cornbread at our house.....this is one of the best things that comes out of Fall and all the Football on this time of year:) Can't wait to do some bon fires once the cool weather is here to stay......Happy Fall Ya'll 2010

A Walk in the Park

The weather is finally starting to cool off here a bit in the Carolinas...too bad mommy's sunburn from this past weekend at the craft fair has kept things pretty heated!!! At least the kids enjoyed getting out this morning and walking to our neighborhood pond.....The even got to see a huge Crane sore across the pond and they had a great time holding hands and jumping as they strolled.....kind of felt nice to be done with strollers and just all go on a walk together:) We have a super fun and busy week ahead of us here and we can't wait to catch everyone up soon....
