Our visit with the Witts

We were so excited for Auntie Val and Our cousin Tiffany and Baby Marcus to come visit this past weekend....they are traveling from Chicago to Miami and they stopped to visit for a few days on their trek there.....now, what started as a weekend filled with family and fun, well, it still was with family and an odd sort of fun, I guess......we sure were not dealt a good hand of cards this weekend....starting off Saturday morning when we awoke to Tiffany's car broken into in our driveway with her money/GPS taken...ugh, Welcome waffles and Charlotte Police Officers just in time for breakfast, then came Festival in the park that we got to just in time for the terrential downpour that allowed us to only see one tent of art and a whole lotta rain and if that wasn't enough fun....we headed to Buca Di Beppo for dinner and as I crunched on my fav salad there I was floored to find a ton of crushed china mixed into lettuce at the bottom of the bowl...YUM!!!! Ok....so aside from a day of oddity we really did love our visit and the kids had so much fun with Baby Marcus...Mason said his fav part was the bugs Auntie Val brought him and telling secrets with tiffany. Sadly, we had only a few pictures to sum of this crazy weekend...probably best that way:) I will have a mental pic for awhile!!!!

PJs and Popcorn Playdate

The kids had so much fun last week getting together in the evening for a fun Pjs and Popcorn Playdate. Daddy was nice enough to watch ALL 4 kids by himself while me and Jenny were out for the evening:) Mason, Preston Carissa and Abby played Rescue Heroes, Barbies and had fun eating popcorn while they watched the Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs Movie. The kids are so happy now that vacations are over, school is back in session and they get to see their friends all the time now:)

1st Day of Preschool 2010

This morning was so exciting in our house as it was Mason's 1st Day of School and Carissa's 1st day Back at Forest Hill's Child Watch. Mason was very excited about the playground but said he was a little nervous about having to write his name for morning work...he said"Mom, do you think you can help me write my "n", you know I have trouble with that" Awh...so sweet, I told him I am sure the teachers can help him and I knew he would have a great day:) I saw him as I was leaving Lifegroup and he came running down the hall so excited to see me, telling me all about the worms that him and Preston dug up on the playground...(I am still trying to scrub that dirt out of his little fingernails:) What happened to being so excited about playing on that new playground????? I guess when you have your good buddy and worms, playgrounds take a back seat:) happy 1st Day of School Bubba Doo...mommy loves you!!! Carissa also had a pretty good 1st day at child watch...she is lucky to have her friends Emma, Lu, and Riley in her class this year and she did awesome in her big girl undies at school today....still no accidents...and now no more diapers at bedtime too!!!!! HOORAY!!!!

Labor Day Festival 2010

This was one of the best weekends we have had in Charlotte in a long time...It cooled down just a bit to enjoy some fun outdoor activities as a family this weekend and one of them happened to be the Matthews Labor Day Festival. We met some of our friends up there Saturday afternoon and the kids had a great time eating sno cones and riding some amusement rides together. Mommy even had the BEST Frozen Cheesecake Slice on a stick that was dipped in yummy chocolate!!!! It does not get much better than this.....we also had a great day at Carowinds and enjoyed having some good friends over for Chili on night.....Bring on Fall!!!!! Happy Labor Day;)

Forest Hill Preschool Orientation

This year is Mason's Last year at Forest Hill Preschool before heading off to Kindergarten....I still remember the first day we brought him to his classroom when he was just 2 1/2 years old....this is his 3rd year here and we are so excited for him.....He is looking forward to playing on the BIG Kids Playground, now that he is that big kid and also that his Buddy Preston is in his class this year:) Last week we went to meet his teachers Mrs.Amanda and Mrs. Kristi....we also got to see their Daily schedule and routines...Mason will love having computer class this year and it looks like they have some fun field trips planned this year:)

Noah's Art Studio

The kids got to go to a fun open art studio time last week at Noah's Art......we had a great time with our friends, Colin, Layla, Will, Wellsman and Andrew playing at all the different art stations. Mason and Carissa both enjoyed wall painting and play doh the most...Mommy enjoyed the fact that they could have fun and paint without the worry of spilling on the carpets:) They offer open art every Wednesday afternoons so we definately want to do this more throughout the fall:)

Best Buddies

For the last few years it has been so fun to watch our families grow....the Larson's, Galbraith's and Harbin's started off with 3 little boys total and since have added 4 sweet girls to the mix.....we love our friends and especially when we can all get together to play on a rainy day:) Can't wait to see this group in a few more years!!!!
