We finally had the pleasure of welcoming another sweet baby boy to our family on October 5th, 2011. Ryder Jacob Galbraith was born at 2:49pm and weighed 8lbs, 13 oz. He was 22 inches long and has the cutest head of dark brown hair:) The nurses and mid wife said he was nothing short of a miracle baby!!! His heartbeat kept dropping with every contraction so they knew something had to be up and so when he finally arrived he came out looking straight up at us with a cord around his neck that contained a double knot....our midwife said in 30 yrs of delivering babies she had never seen a double knot and we were blessed to have this precious boy in our arms!!!! After this traumatic delivery Ryder seemed to be doing well...at his first checkup the day after discharge we had the doctor check what I thought was a little splinter in his finger and she ended up admitting us to Levine's Children hospital for the infection which I guess can spread quickly in babies that young.....the doctors hooked him up via IV with cords to check vitals and kept him their for bloodwork etc....we were lucky it did not spread and got to go home that evening....they did tell us to go back monday because his billiroubin levels spiked.....the next day we had those checked and they looked better and as of today he is 1 week old.....he is still not back to birthweight so we have to go back to doctor next week to make sure all is good....but for now we are home and loving this little guy with all our hearts!!!!! His big Brother and Big sister can't get enough of him (despite both having bronchitis the day he was born and could not visit Ryder in the Hospital:()...... he is an amazing addition to our family!!!!
