BEWARE: of the Creepy Crawlers

Buyers beware of the Creepy Crawler Bug maker...although this can be hours of entertainment and produce lots of fun little rubber bugs...it also is hours of clean up only to be left with a mess of stains on the carpet if your 4 yr old sneaks it into his room and tries to make them solo during naptime!!!
Thankfully, Mason has a nice big train table to fit perfectly over the mess until he is a little older and we can then replace it, assuming this was a once in his lifetime mishap....hmm????

"H-appy Mama's Day" 2010

Wishing all of the moms out there a very Happy Mother's Day today...we are so very blessed to have the best job in the world.....I love seeing the world through the eyes of my children and happily embrace being their mom!!!!! We had such a fun and busy Mother's Day....planted flowers, went to the Nature Museum and to Freedom Park, got to read my book, cooked lots of muffins and chocolate cake since the kids bought me a mixer and mixes for me to make them treats:), and I even gave up our reservation at Outback Steakhouse to have a picnic with Corndogs on the front lawn:) So much better...we even had a neighborhood dog run up to our picnic on his walk...of course Mason protected the Chocolate cake...complete with 4 candles for 4 great years of being a MOMMY!!!

Strawberry Patch with Friends

This morning the kids had so much fun at Hall Farm picking strawberries with their friends....The weather was so beautiful out, even a little hot, and the berries were great for picking. Carissa most definately ate as many as she picked but had so much fun running around with Izzy and Abby. Mason and Preston were on a mission to find the strangest Berries "the ones that looked like they had teeth" And Sweet Clara and Ella Grace sat so sweetly in the patch smiling for their mommies and eating a few berries. It was a busy morning there once fieldtrips started to arrive so I am thankful to have gotten there early!!! We are hoping to take one more trip back this picking season.

Mason's Bug Habitat

Mason has been patiently watching his habitat for the last few weeks....he put in 4 catapillars (see earlier post) and overnight they turned into cacoons (thanks for making the food/water task easy on mommy) AND finally last night we went outside to check on them and Mason was so excited to see that the moths have come out of their cacoons and were flying all around!!! We let them go last night and can't wait to find another cool bug to add back in its place...we still have Mister Cool Black beetle....he loves swimming on his back in the little pond inside the habitat.

A Trip to the Nature Museum

What a great time we had last week with our friends at the Nature Museum in Charlotte. Lucky for us we get free admission with our discovery place season passes. We had a ball checking out all the cool stuff there....mole tunnels to crawl through, real owls and turtles. Lots and lots of gross bug(happily contained), an awesome butterfly with tons of beautiful butterflies fluttering around us and not to mention the 4 foot black snake slithering around there on the floor that about scared Mommy to the moon and back:) So much fun for all the little explorers out there...we definately will be making a trip back soon:)

Forest Hill Lifegroup

I have joined a Lifegroup for Mommies at Forest Hill and I have met some Amazing moms. My friend Carrie started the group and we meet each Tuesday at church....Carissa has met lots of new little friends her age as well. They now attend ForestHill Playschool on Tuesdays when us mommies meet.....Last week was the Quail Hollow Golf Championship so we did not meet there and ended up having a playdate at the park instead...the kids had lots of fun...This past week we did our first service project and made dinner for 40 kids at Nexus....so blessed to be able to help others!!!! And next week we are beginning a book study on "Crazy Love" Can't wait!!!

Kids in Motion at South Park

What a fun event for the kids to attend this past weekend. From Carnival games to cooking demonstrations, building birdhouses and making beaded bracelets...it was nonstop entertainment. Lots of dance performances and cool vehicles to check out...what more could a little kid ask for. Mason and Preston loved the robot chasing after them and also thought the police motorcycle was pretty cool. They made some trail mix, talked on the CB radio in the firetruck and towtruck, and also chatted with the Carolina Panther's Mascot...Sur Purr!!! Carissa had the best time sampling all the snack tables and painting with the hot wheel cars...Can't wait for Kids in Motion 2011.
