Strawberry Picking 2011

This year the kids had a blast picking strawberries with their friends and hunting for bugs amongst the patches.....Mason did great finding the nice red strawberries until he spotted his first yellow ladybug then from there on his mission was to find as many bugs as possible hiding in the plants. Carissa loved finding berries until she too discovered that they were better to eat and so our 2nd round of picking consisted of nothing but green stems in our basket:) They had such fun and we hope to maybe get in another round of picking but since the crops were damaged from the hail storm the day of Mason's 5th Birthday Party...the picking may not be here long!!!

A Colorful Display of Eggs

This morning the kids and I set out to color some easter eggs....and it wouldn't quite be that time of year without me calling GaGa for the hundredth time to figure out how to boil an egg...I should remember or could just right it down but then how would I otherwise make her feel needed:)!!! Then Cari and I forgot the white vinegar so off to the store we went....got home just in time for the eggs to cool and to mix up all the colors.....man do all those tablets look the same...hard to tell which need just water and what colors needed the vinegar but Geez....just some eggs and I am sure my kids will triple dip and turn them all brown anyways so what did it really matter:)

The weather was beautiful so we set up egg dying camp out on the patio and got to work.....last year i recall this being chaotic but this year was fun...the kids loved all the secret messages written in crayon and couldn't wait to pull them out and read them.....Mason loved "Mixing Colors" and Cari was thrilled with her Pink Owl Egg Mommy made for her.....Hope the kids are excited to eat the 20lbs of egg salad coming their way, as they were to color these things!!!

Easter Pictures 2011

Mason and Carissa were lucky enough this year to have some fun pictures taken with some real bunnies. The kids were so excited to take pictures with them by our neighborhood pond and they did pretty well holding these fluffy little bunnies. Looking forward to celebrating Easter and relaxing during spring break!!!

Mason's Preschool Easter Party

Last Thursday the kids had so much fun learning about the importance of Easter and all Jesus has done for us. The kids were able to celebrate by making some fun Holy Week Crosses and also participated in a super fun Easter Egg Hunt Outdoors. For the class party Arden's Mom and I put together some fun little projects too that included the sticker crosses, some fruit loop bunny necklaces and using edible markers to draw on these giant bunny marshmallows...it was all jam packed into a half hour party but was still fun...the kids also got to enjoy some cut Easter themed sugar cookies that Carissa helped me bake right before the party. The kids are now on spring break and I wish we would have thought of that before Daddy had his knee surgery because we are all quite the cozy family this week!!!

Kerrington's Owl Birthday Party

Carissa had so much fun today at her friend Kerrington's 2nd Birthday Party. Brooke did such a great job creating lots of fun owl themed activities for the kids and such cute goodies to take home. Carissa enjoyed some yummy cake and loved the owl pinata. Happy Birthday Sweet Kerrington and thanks for letting us Celebrate you today

Kids in Motion Festival

This past weekend the kids had lots of fun with family at the Kids in Motion Festival. They got to tour some fun vehicles, clowns and did some cute projects. Mason love the Martial Arts Demonstrations where he got to kick a board in half and Carissa loved scouting out the clowns and snacking on the trail mix she mixed up at one of the booths. She was also very excited to see a Barney Table at the Festival. We were lucky to have Mason's Party on Saturday and then get to do this with our family on Sunday....we ended the day with a yummy trip to Cheesecake Factory!!!
