What a fun event for the kids to attend this past weekend. From Carnival games to cooking demonstrations, building birdhouses and making beaded bracelets...it was nonstop entertainment. Lots of dance performances and cool vehicles to check out...what more could a little kid ask for. Mason and Preston loved the robot chasing after them and also thought the police motorcycle was pretty cool. They made some trail mix, talked on the CB radio in the firetruck and towtruck, and also chatted with the Carolina Panther's Mascot...Sur Purr!!! Carissa had the best time sampling all the snack tables and painting with the hot wheel cars...Can't wait for Kids in Motion 2011.

Catapillar & Friends
Mason and Preston love playing together and the Backyard is one of their favorite places. Preston got Mason a cool bug hut for his birthday and when they were playing outside last week, they were lucky enough to find the very 1st catapillar this season to add to this new contraption. Mason could not have been happier. Since then we have added 4 catapillars to the bug habitat Grandma Icenbice sent us and they have all formed cacoons...only time will tell as to what will emerge from them:) Mason has a spot light on them in the kitchen and each morning he runs down to check on them and I know he has climbed up on the counter because I awake to the rumble of the garbage disposal instead of the spotlight!!! Since then we have placed a buggy sticker on the correct switch so he knows which to push!!!

In the Life of a Pirate
I am not sure how many more posts I can write about pirates but what choice do I have when you happen to live with one???? He wakes up looking for all of his pirate nesscessities: bandanas, hat, beads, skull necklaces, places to tuck his shooters and sharp swords (mind you, all of these weapons he is not allowed to have, so he has resorted to learning to cut sharp swords out of construction paper all by himself!!!), and of course his gold, treasure chest and hook!!! He goes to sleep singing about a pirates life and loves reading about pirates....only relief I have is that summer is approaching and he will soon flip back to BUG MODE....searching for them, magnifying them, catching them, obsessing about there whereabouts...thus giving me a little break from pirates..whew!!

Lovin mY little Guy
Before you entered the world I loved you...I never knew what it would be like to have a little boy (hmm, who was going to play with all those Barbies and Cabbage Patch kids I saved from when I grew up???) but here you are and I wouldn't want it any other way....at 4yrs old you love Pirates and a good bug hunt(so hard to keep you from digging up my back yard), you say such sweet things to me each morning when you come in my room and wake me up "Mommy, wake up, I am happy to see you this morning" then full throttle into little boy mischeif!!! I love how you love the things I do, just because I do: Art projects, fancy scissors, A-1 Sauce, sweets, a good snuggle...etc... Wow, what memories 4 years has made for us and I can only hope that there are so many more....love you Bubba Doo!!!!

Pirate Fest 2010 in Greenville NC
Mason had the best time ever as we took him for his birthday 4 hours away to a Pirate Festival in Greenville NC on the East Coast near the Outerbanks!!! He got to see live Pirate sword fights, check out all the cool pirate gear, play with other little pirates and even attend a children's school of piracy where they learned to walk the plank, fire cannons, and a pirate's vocabulary!!! Mason's favorite part aside from meeting Captain Jack Sparrow was the green Balloon sword they made him. So much fun and we made it back home just in time for Mommy to get ready for his birthday party the next morning!!!!

Here Comes Peter Cotton Tail..Hoppin down the Bunny Trail
Hoppy Easter to all.....Easter morning is always so fun and this year especially as we awoke to Mason's feet running frantically through the house trying to tell everyone that the bunny had come to our house and left eggs all on the front yard!!(obviously he couldn't wait to look out his window the morning) The kids had so much fun filling their baskets to the brim and then finding all the tresures inside the easter eggs. Then to their amazment they found their baskets on a little table and enjoyed all the peeps, bug containers, and froggie glasses inside!!! We hope everyone has a wonderful Easter Sunday with their families!!!
