A Beautiful Trip to the Zoo in Columbia

The weather is warming and we decided to take the kids to the zoo since it was going to be a warm 76 degrees in Columbia SC.  Despite the DVD all of the sudden malfunctioning in the Oddessy....and yes, these days this is a huge problem, we packed the kids up and started our trip.  Its only 1 hr 20 minutes to the Zoo so they hung in there.  The zoo is expanding so all sorts of construction and changes...it let us in right by the playground which was nice because it is where we ended so the kids can play...We saw all of their favorites and Ryder and Jack were thrilled to walk around and see the animals...Mason loved feeding the Larakeets nectar and Ryder liked the Monkeys....made lots of ah ah ah's through the zoo:) Jack was over the moon that he could run around and especially guzzled the fruit punch at lunch and played on the slides on the playground. Carissa liked the flamingos and the Icee Station:) We all enjoyed the weather and the family time...one of my favorite places to take the kids...Mason couldn't wait for me to email a few pictures to his teacher so he could share with the class:) Can't wait to see what new exhibits they are bringing to Riverbanks Zoo this summer:)
