This morning we decided to take a day trip to the Mountains...had to get some good information from Katy and KaraBeth since they go often...we have been but awhile back and before kids so couldn't decide where to go....We really like Grandfather Mountain but the steep cliffs made us a little nervous with the kids so we decided to spend the day in blowing rock. We found some vintage cars at a overlook spot along the parkway...the kids had a blast playing in the leaves. Then we headed to downtown Blowing Rock and went in a bunch of local shops, one of which was a yummy ice cream and homemade fudge shop...Ryder would not let that box of Fudge out of his hands the rest of the day:) We had lunch at Canyons....it was actually a Jazz Brunch with Live Music and beautiful Views of the Mountains....we played at a playground and then headed home...loved this special time with the kids and hope to make it back this winter to the Christmas Tree Farms.....the leaves were so pretty but this was the end of season so alot were already falling to the ground!
